Nature Center & Education Programs

The White Cedar Nature Center makes a great stop for people of all ages on your visit to Peninsula State Park. Friendly staff and volunteers will help you become acquainted with the park’s trails, recreational opportunities, unique geology, history and all the natural wonders of the park.

At the Nature Center we have lots of displays on the park’s wildlife. Check out the geology displays and learn how Peninsula’s unique landscape along the Niagara Escarpment was formed. Discover the park’s human history with the Nature Center’s historic photograph and memorabilia collection. Kids can enjoy lots of hands-on displays and reading area along with an exploration room with puzzles, mystery boxes, fun games and activities.  We even have a gift shop where you can get your Park merchandise.

The Nature Center is on Bluff Road next to the wood yard.

HOURS:

During Winter, the nature center is open as staffing allows.

Throughout the year, the park naturalist and White Cedar Nature Center present an array of educational and recreational programs. Make sure to watch our Calendar of Events and our Facebook page for the full schedule.

Nature Center Improvements:

The White Cedar Nature Center has been recently upgraded and remodeled.  In addition to new interior space it now also includes an outdoor amphitheater, improved walkways and parking to provide accessibility for people of all ages and physical abilities. These improvements enable the expansion of our outdoor educational, recreational, and historical programs and events!
