Our dedicated camp and Nature Center hosts are here to make your visit to Peninsula State Park an experience to remember. They volunteer their time in many areas of the Park. They are at the Nature Center assisting with our exhibits, events and programs. They also are there to greet you at the campsites and offer guidance and directions to the many Park trails and other attractions.
MEET OUR HOSTS
Patty and Wayne McStrack have been hosting for 2 years. This year they are stationed in Tennison Bay for eight weeks, until October. These dedicated volunteers call Wales, Wisconsin home but prefer to be on the go enjoying the natural beauty of the State. They mostly get great satisfaction from helping other campers In Peninsula State Park. Wayne and Patty are retired from the IT and Healthcare world respectively and love the outdoors, meeting fellow campers and enjoying theatre productions. Retirement has afforded them the opportunity to give back while enjoying the “Cape Cod of the Midwest”, more commonly known as Door County. Thanks Patty and Wayne!!
One of our veteran Nature Center hosts is Nancy Schumacher. She lives in Menasha and spends three or more weeks a summer making the White Cedar Nature Center a fun and informative place for visitors. Nancy is a retired teacher and former Travel Agent. Two traits that make her the perfect host for our Nature Center. She has been coming to PSP for 45 years. Why does she volunteer? She loves the People, the Park and the joy it brings to so many. Nancy loves biking, hiking and camping in both Tennison and Nicolet campgrounds.
