The Friends of Peninsula State Park have been recognized and honored with two HERO awards for 2024 by the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks (FWSP) organization.
The Friends of Peninsula State Park was named outstanding Friends group in Wisconsin for their ongoing efforts to make Peninsula State Park more accessible, their dedication to promoting Peninsula State Park and for funding Park improvements.
Michelle Kemp was awarded an individual FWSP HERO award recognizing her contributions as an outstanding Friends member. Michelle serves as the VP of the FPSP Board, effectively moving our organization forward through her leadership. She also serves as the chair of the FPSP Marketing committee responsible for promoting events and activities that make Peninsula State Park a vital part of the WI State Park System. Under Michelle’s guidance FPSP has grown a small gift store operation into an important financial contributor for funding recreational and accessibility upgrades in the Park. Well done Michelle.
