Pen Park AIR Tomiko Jones: Toro Nagashi (Glowing Lantern Festival)

Pen Park artist in residence, Tomiko Jones, will be hosting the first of two public programs (no fee!!) in Peninsula State Park during her residency:

Toro Nagashi (Glowing Lantern Festival)
Monday, August 19 from 7-10pm (sunset)
Peninsula State Park, Weborg Point Fishing Pier and the nearby shelter

This festival is a Japanese tradition for remembering and honoring those who have passed. The annual traditional date is August 6.
The event in Pen Park includes a projection on a scrim on the shore of one of Tomiko’s works + lanterns made by Tomiko with natural materials.

Anyone is welcome to add a lantern to the collection in remembrance of someone in their lives.
