Well over 100 hikers joined the Friends of Peninsula State Park on New Year’s Day for a brisk hike through the snowy trails of Pen Park. Our hike leader, Bill Pennoyer, shared highlights of the Park with participants. After the hike attendees enjoyed hot chocolate, trail mix and delicious cookies furnished by the Friends. Park Superintendent Eric Hyde and Ranger Matt Ernst greeted hikers and set up a very welcome warming fire at the Nature Center amphitheater. It made for a great start to 2025!
