The event will not be rescheduled due to other activities in the coming weeks. However\, the campfire story time on Saturday and the Earth Day hike on Sunday are still scheduled to take place. SUMMARY:IMBA Trail Building Clinic
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Peninsula State Park\, working in collaboration with the International Mountain Biking Assocation (IMBA)\, is sponsoring a full day trail buildling class for volunteers and those interested in becoming involved with trail building and maintenance at Peninsula State Park. The event will include expert design and building techniques from IMBA trail builders and the opportunity to work on a section of single track in the park. Lunch will be provided. DESCRIPTION:Food table at 2013 Annual Meeting\nBeautiful Weborg Point in Peninsula State Park will be the setting for the annual meeting of the Friends of Peninsula State Park\, on Saturday August 16\, at 11:30 AM. A picnic potluck lunch will be followed by a short business meeting\, which will include a report from Park Superintendent Kelli Bruns\, who will share news about the plans for renovation of the historic White Cedar Nature Center. \nThe Friends welcome the public to join them for the informational program\, which begins at 1 PM. Linda Williams\, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Forest Health Specialist\, will speak on “Emerald Ash Borer and Beech Bark Disease in Door County: What to Watch for and What Does it Mean?” Park Superintendent Bruns encourages members of the community to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about a topic of immediate concern here. “We are fortunate to have such a knowledgeable speaker sharing insights with us\,” she said. \nFriends board president Chris Holicek encourages fellow Friends to attend this always enjoyable event. “This is a chance for all of the Friends to get an overview of the accomplishments of the past year and the exciting plans for the coming year\,” she says. \nFriends members and their guests are asked to bring a dish to pass for the lunch. Drinks and hot dogs will be provided. Please RSVP to Gail Anderson at 920-868-3499 or gnanderson@wildblue.net. \nParking at Weborg shelter is limited.\, and carpooling is recommended. Additional parking is available in the day lot just north of the campground and at Nelson Point\, as well as at the Fish Creek overflow lot. A Park vehicle sticker is required. \nFriends of Peninsula State Park is an organization dedicated to making a meaningful contribution toward the preservation and goals of Peninsula State Park. The Friends provide volunteer services and financial support for the interpretive\, educational\, recreational and visitor service programs at Peninsula State Park. New members are always welcome. A membership form is available on the website or at the park office.

DESCRIPTION:Ski or hike a 1-mile candle-lit trail through the Peninsula State Park forest. The Friends of Peninsula State Park will host a bonfire with refreshments at the winter warming shelter. Pets are not allowed. Located at the Lot 5 trailhead; enter at Highland Road at the intersection of Hwy 42 and County Highway A.
