SUMMARY:Trail Work Day (RSVP)
DESCRIPTION:The trail work day will be held Sunday\, Nov. 1\, from 10 am 4 pm. “We’re hoping to get a lot of work done to ready the trails for mountain biking and skiing\,” said Brian Fitzgerald. “Whether people can help all day or for just an hour\, any time is appreciated.” \nThe Friends group will provide all equipment to perform trail blowing\, branch trimming\, rock and root removal and hole filling on the trails. Meet other mountain bikers\, runners\, and Nordic Skiers and help improve 16 miles of cross country ski trails and 9 miles of mountain bike trails in Peninsula State Park for everyone to enjoy. Al Johnson’s is generously donating food and beverages for volunteers at 4 pm. \nTo help at the trail work day\, RSVP by email to brianfitzgerald67@gmail.com or call 920.421.1518\, then check in at Lot 5 on Highland Road Nov. 1 (turn east at the corner of Hwy 42 and CTY A).

DESCRIPTION:Fish Creek\, WI\, January 2\, 2015 – Everyone is invited to join the Friends of Peninsula \nState Park on Saturday\, January 17 for a leisurely ski or snowshoe outing on the \nPeninsula State Park golf course. \nFrom 10 AM until noon\, individuals and families will enjoy skiing on tracked\, level \ntrails or snowshoeing on the course. Cookies and cocoa will be served around the \nfireplace in the warming shelter. \nParticipants of any skill level are encouraged to come. They can bring their own skis \nor snowshoes\, or rent equipment available at several local businesses. “If you \nhaven’t tried snowshoeing or cross country skiing\, or if you would like some \ninstruction\, bring your equipment and join the fun\,” says Michelle Kemp\, of the \nFriends board. \nChris Holicek\, president of the Friends\, encourages those who enjoy the outdoors in \nwinter to participate in this special event\, sponsored by Peninsula State Park and its \nFriends group. “The wonderful time we have out on the course\, with its beautiful \nviews\, is matched by the warm fellowship we enjoy afterward in the shelter\,” she \nsays. \nFor this event\, enter the park at Highland Road\, one mile north of Fish Creek at the \nintersection of Highway 42 and County Road A\, and park in Lot 5. A State Park \nvehicle admission sticker is required. Trail passes will not be required for this event. \nPlease\, no pets. \nThe Family Ski and Snowshoe will be cancelled if weather conditions are \nunfavorable.
